About Väddö Folk High School

Väddö Folk High School is Stockholm County's oldest folk high school and has been a meeting place for education and personal development, collaboration, and community since its inception in 1879.

The school is located on an island with a fixed bridge connection over the Väddö Canal, next to the locality of Älmsta in Roslagen. Väddö is located 30 kilometers north of Norrtälje and 100 kilometers from Stockholm. Bus connections are available from Tekniska Högskolan via Norrtälje, and the school has its own bus stop. The island of Väddö inspires a rich outdoor life in archipelago nature; fishing, canoeing, golf, etc. In the school's vicinity, there are libraries, banks, shops, restaurants, Friskis & Svettis, garden centers, farm dairies, and nature reserves.

The school operates in three locations in Stockholm County: in Väddö, Norrtälje, and Kista. The majority of the courses are offered in Väddö, where you will also find the school's boarding facilities.

Väddö Folk High School has a boarding facility with space for 47 participants, and the school has a sauna and gym. The school is alcohol- and drug-free.
